Ummm...

I don't know if anyone noticed, cause I sure didn't - but by the end of this week, I will only have about 2 months before this baby is due. Uh. Yeah. It's crunch time.

A little overwhelming? I think so.

Help.

On a slightly less overwhelming thought - I slept pretty well last night. That's the first time in about two weeks. Yay me! And today I meet with my counselor about graduating in August. So hopefully all goes well and I can graduate before this baby comes!

Purles Reunion: Cake

I have tons of pictures of our reunion (thanks to all the girls with their photography skills and great cameras) and I thought I would post the pictures in a series. We were lucky enough to be able to use my sister-in-law's family cabin up in Park City. It was absolutely AMAZING.

Today, I wanted to post about the cake I made for our June birthdays. I got this recipe from Sweetapolita and it not only tasted delicious, but it was so fun to make.

I loved watching the kids faces when Jason cut into the cake.

Loved it!

Baby James

We had sweet baby James' baby blessing a few weeks ago and it was quite wonderful. I'm glad my mom got around to taking pictures with my camera, otherwise I wouldn't have. Here's the happy couple and the star of the show.

7 months for me, and 8 months for Kenzie. We're gettin' close! It's fun being pregnant with my sister.

The kids loved taking rides on the golf cart thingy - or whatever it was. Of course, Daniel had fun with the kids too.

Just ignore Daniel's tie. We don't really know why his tie is over his shoulder. I still think he's cute.

It really was such a lovely day full of family, food, and lots of love.

GMAT and blogging

Daniel is currently studying for the GMAT, while I sit here and blog...I should be working on my online class or internship, but I'd rather blog. So here I am.

Here are just some of the things we've been up to lately:

We have LOVED our new apartment. Pretty much everything about it is awesome. I love having a bigger kitchen. It's been a nice change to actually want to cook because I have room to. We made pizza last week and Daniel looks like such a pro.

These are some pictures of our glorious trip to St. George. It really was heaven on earth.

This is Maggie, Keric, and baby Boston. We wish they lived closer so we could hang out with them more often.

Of course, whenever we get together with Keric and Maggie, the talk of music, or music is always involved. Daniel and Keric used to be in a band in high school so they always like to remember the old days by bringing out their guitars and jamming. I absolutely love to hear them play.

This is me just being goofy.

So, I have a funny story. If any of you know me, you know I'm very sensitive to anything that has to do with animals. I don't know why, but in all the movies where animals are hurt, I end up crying. Call me weird, but that's the way it's always been. Ever since I've been pregnant, this sensitivity to animals and their treatment has been magnified a hundred fold. Yeah. You heard me. The other night I was looking up viral videos for my internship and came across this. Watch it. I'll wait.

Did you watch it? Seriously though. If that didn't pull at your heartstrings, I don't know what will.

Long story short, I ended up bawling at the end of it. Yes, actual bawling. Daniel, who never quite understands my pregnancy hormones, ended up laughing his head off at me, which in turn, made me do the laugh/cry thing. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I was bawling and laughing at the same time and couldn't stop. It ended up being the funniest thing ever. I tried to get a picture of Daniel on the ground laughing so hard he couldn't get up, but as soon as I pulled the camera out, he sat up. This is all that I got -

And yes, that is my foot trying to get him back to the ground because he was still laughing hysterically and I wanted the picture to capture that moment. Obviously, it didn't work.

Confession: I would do the laugh/bawl thing over and over again just to hear Daniel laugh that hard. I love it THAT much.

Swollen Feet

Would you look outside today?! It's BEA-U-TIFUL. Which is saying a lot, considering it's been raining for the past 2 weeks or so. I lost count after it was raining for a week straight. I hope you all have a wonderful day with the sun shining, birds chirping, and construction sirens sounding.

I figured it was time for another little update in the life of pregnant Amie. I went to my mid-wife last week and everything checked out great. Baby boy has a strong heartbeat and continues to grow. I have another ultrasound to make sure everything is going the way it should in two weeks. We're praying that everything goes just as well as it has so far. Baby boy Spear (from hence forth he will be called this, since we haven't named him yet and I have no idea what else to call him) still loves to kick his mommy. I mean I'm sure the kid doesn't think anything of it, and quite frankly, I like the reassurance that he's alive and kicking anyway (unless he gives a nice kick to my ribs), so I guess we're both enjoying it for the most part. I now know the difference between his kicking, hiccups, and when he is just stretching out.

One of the big down sides to this week has been the recent swelling of my feet. I considered myself lucky so far to not have swollen up, but in the last 3 days or so, my feet have probably tripled in size. No joke. I can't wear most of my shoes. The other day, it was even hard for me to walk around. I get frustrated when I look down and can't even recognize my own feet. My feet used to be my treasure...they used to be so cute...with my nails all painted and ready for summer...and now...I can't bare the sight of them. I know I sound pretty immature right now, but if you had as cute of toes as I do, you'd be pretty sad when they disappeared into a swollen mass too.

It seems like the days are going by so fast. I'm not sure I'm ready for this little guy to come into the world. I'm not prepared. I haven't finished my quilt, or even started on my car seat cover, let alone even bought a car seat yet. I feel SO behind, and yet, I'm doing the best I can with working full time, with a part-time internship, an online class, plus the regular duties of a wife (which I absolutely love, but seem to be slacking in. Our stuff is still in boxes...) But this baby boy is going to come into the world whether I'm ready for him or not. Is anyone ever really prepared for a newborn baby anyway? Probably not. So, at least I am comforted in knowing I'll probably never be "completely" ready.

The Lord continues to bless the Spear family. Today was one of those days when I got up and starting singing "Oh, what a beautiful morning. Oh, what a beautiful day, I've got a wonderful feeling, everythings going my way..." (Thank you, girls camp). But, it is truly how I feel. Daniel and I are enourmously blessed. And to top off all our many blessings, we are taking a wonderful vacation to beautiful St. George this weekend. I'm SO excited to get working on my sewing projects, spend time with family and friends, and most of all, SWIM. I have been CRAVING a good swim for a long time. I'll have to strip myself of pride and not care about my swollen fat legs and feet...which is going to be hard. I wouldn't be surprised if I start swimming in my tears or something. Too bad they don't make a one piece, full bathing suit (with fabric to cover legs and arms) for pregnant women. I'd be all over that.

That's about it. I'll post pictures of our trip as soon as we're back.

Oh, and by the way, Daniel is doing awesome too. He's studying for the GMAT. Bless his heart. This post was my ranting about pregnancy, but I wanted you all to know that I have a wonderful husband and he is doing awesome at his husbandry duties.

Look-a-like

So remember when I posted this little picture awhile back? to refresh your memory, here it is again:

Well, when we went to Daniel's parents house a few weeks ago in St. George, I saw this on the fridge. The following picture is of Daniel when he was just a little tyke.

I'm now convinced that this little guy inside me is going to look exactly like his dad. If you can't see the similarites, just look at Daniel's cute button nose and chin. I guess my mom wasn't too far off...their profiles are very very similar.

Pack-n-Play

Last night we finally got our little Pack-n-Play. UPS delivered it to our apartment a few days ago, but we were both at work so the guy dropped it off at our neighbors. The neighbors we've never met and apparently have conflicting schedules. It took us two days to catch up with them in order to retrieve our package. It was all worth it in the end.

Daniel was so excited to put it together. It made me happy. He immediately pulled it out and started working on it. I know he's just as excited as I am to have this little boy come into the world. So while he was doing this:

and this...

and this...

I was taking pictures of my belly...

He seemed pretty content without my help. I was okay with that. This full time job is taking its toll and I'm usually too exhausted to do anything when I get home.

So now that I've skipped month 5...I thought I should take pictures of month 6. Here you go!
