Family History and Such...

So recently Daniel and I have been called to be the Ward Extraction Specialists. Sounds pretty snazzy doesn't it? Well, we love it. Every week during Sunday School, we get to instruct around 2-3 couples on how to index and give a short lesson about the importance of family history and doing work for the dead. It really has been such a blessing. Not only do we love doing indexing every Sunday, but we've also had a desire to get into our own family history. While both my sides have had a lot of work done (I just have awesome grandparents, aunts and uncles who have done a lot of genealogy), Daniel, on the other hand, can only go back to his great great great grandfather (or is it only 2 "greats"?) Anyways, yesterday I was able to go back one more generation and it was exciting for Daniel. It is true that his family comes from Germany. (yay!) Anyways, we've been having a blast discovering relatives and such. My testimony of family history has really grown and I'm grateful the Lord has put me and my husband in such a wonderful calling. I hope to be able to teach many in the future how to search for ancestors. It's the easiest missionary work we can do, and my favorite kind at that! So get out there, and find out where you are from!

Other news: I finish finals today! (And yes, I should be studying right now.) This semester has been A LOT of work. I'm glad that it's almost over. On the other hand, Daniel starts school in two weeks! (sucker!) But I'll help him get through, just as he has done for me. Oh, and we are going to Show Low, Arizona this weekend for a Spear family reunion. I'll take pictures for sure.

We love being married and appreciate all the love and support we receive. Thank you to those who see my love for cakes and are willing to spread the word. I hope one day to have a little business of my own that I can do from home. Thank you to everyone who has given us good advice, an old couch, table, flat screen tv, or simply some money to help us pay for school. I thank the Lord for such wonderful people I have around me. God bless you all!

Our Latest Cake Adventure

Daniel and I traveled to St. George to make Nate and Jamie's wedding cake this weekend. We had a blast...literally. It was hot, humid, and almost impossible to make a wedding cake - but we did it! Here is the work of art!
