Grown-up things

This morning Daniel asked me what was the best way to renew a license. I thought, "Well that's weird." So I asked, "Why do you want to know? Did your license expire yesterday or something?" and then he pulled out his license for me to see that it had expired almost SIX MONTHS ago. What?! Apparently Utah doesn't send out notices anymore. How rude.

So that's just another little thing we have to do on top of finding a pediatrician, getting new insurance, paying bills, being parents, and all the other fun grown-up stuff. Does anyone else miss the days when all you had to worry about was homework and your next meal? While those days are long gone, I really wouldn't trade this time in my life for the world. I think Daniel and I have more fun than most couples - even under stress. I'm grateful for his supportive nature and his determination to do well in school, work, and life in general. He's amazing.

I downloaded some photos from our camera and forgot about the fun trip we took to Baby Depot at Burlington Coat Factory. Let's just say we didn't find much. But we did have a lot of fun. Someone had a little too much fun feeling the fabric for this bed covering...

You can't really tell, but someone not only felt the fabric, but decided that they needed a bigger hole in the plastic cover to get a better feel. I don't know why this was so hilarious for me, but I honestly could not stop laughing.

We went to the Draper temple with my fam a few weeks ago and when we got out it was the most beautiful rain I have seen in a long time. I forgot how much I miss Draper and the view of the Valley.

This is just one of my favorite grown-up things to do. Thanks Mom and Dad for teaching me the importance of going to the temple. I always remember you two going to the temple no matter how busy or hectic life got.

Good news

Today we had another ultrasound to make sure everything was okay with our baby boy. We got loads of good news! Talk about awesome. Baby Spear is completely healthy. He is head down (which was a concern of mine because of my uterine septum thing) and the cyst they found on his kidney last ultrasound has disappeared. The doctor pretty much said that I should enjoy the rest of my pregnancy because everything looks great! Such a blessing. Prayers are constantly being answered in our lives.

Another big surprise was that the technician took some 3-D pictures. We were shocked to see our baby in so much detail!

I think I take back the other post about our baby looking just like Daniel...this baby looks just like my baby pictures and he looks like a Purles. I guess we'll see what he is like when he comes though.

I was actually really relieved to get this next ultrasound picture because this week I had a dream that our baby had 7 fingers and it was really disturbing...

Glad to know he only has 5. :)

The light at the end of the tunnel...

These next two months are going to be BIG. and I mean HUGE. I've got so much to do, and not enough time. Isn't that how life works though? I couldn't be more grateful for my hussle and bussle because it means that this baby will be here in no time and I will have no time to waste. I keep having dreams of him - which just makes me want him out, like, right now. If you were to ask me about a week ago if I was ready for this baby, I'd be like "heck no." But now, I seriously can not wait to get him out. I just want him in my arms and I want to see what the little guy will look like. I'm not even scared about the pain anymore...well at least I'm trying not to think about the whole labor thing.

While preparing for our little one, I'm also trying to finish up my online class...that is supposed to be done by next Friday...and that I'm only halfway done with. Crazy? Yeah, probably. But I'll get it done. Currently, I'm halfway through the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I'm on a role. So hopefully all will go well and I will still graduate on time! So not only will I graduate in a month from today, but I could potentially have a baby very soon afterwards. Two very very big, exciting, and worthwhile things. I am truly blessed right now.

Daniel is still studying for the GMAT. Bless his heart. I think the whole thing is bogus. I mean when will I (or he) ever use fractions to figure out how many votes my competitor got more than me? Heck, I'll just ask the counter how many votes I lost by. Ya know? Anyways, he's such a trooper and he works so hard. He's picking up my slack right now as I skip work to finish my class and work on my internship. He's just amazing like that.

So there you go. We're happy, healthy, and couldn't be more blessed. We have amazing friends and family who are there to support us. So if any of you are reading this, we love you! Thank you for blessing our lives and our home.

Now that I'm immersed in Middle-Earth and the battle between good and evil, I've had the strongest desire to watch all the movies again. But - not until I finish my class. Until then, Daniel found this video online that I think is absolutely hilarious. Watch, and enjoy. (But be warned, Saruman's death is pretty gruesome.)

Purles Family Reunion, Part 3 (Final installment)

The view from the cabin porch. Beautiful.

A close call with a moose.

Maria is always willing to paint toe nails when we get together for reunions. I think it's adorable.

Indoor swimming pool, baby!

and my Dad being funny by spraying ice cold water on us...

The kids always love playing with Daniel. I often found him in situations like this:

He's going to be the best Dad.

We wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for these two beautiful people - my Dad...

and my mom. Isn't she cute?

Seriously though, we are a large happy family.

Purles Family Reunion, Part 2

At every family reunion, there is a lot of sleeping going on. And I mean A LOT. I love that there are so many pictures snapped of my family members sleeping everywhere. Needless to say, all of us needed the rest from the non-stop grind of real life.

Even the kids needed it.

Along with lots of sleeping, we had lots of music.

I love my fam.
